We first met this fiery epee fencer from the Netherlands when he took 3rd place at the 2005 World Championships, upsetting past Olympic Champ Marcel Fischer (Switzerland) in the final seconds of his top-8 bout. He is currently 5th in the world.
Bas is very supportive of our efforts to promote the sport of fencing. He says:

I am very happy with the work you do, because it was always hard to find footage and pictures from the big events, and now there is one place where people can find it. ... I believe that FP will be of great importance for the fencing sport in general.
