2008 Women's Sabre GP FRA

It's only February, and it's already been a busy year! Fencing Pictures packs its bags and heads to the Women's Sabre Grand Prix in Orleans, France. The top 16 of the world are here in Orleans. Netchaeva RUS World Champion 08, Zagunis USA Olympic Champion, Ward USA World Champion 07  and Tan CHN actual number #1 in the FIE ranking.

News!

132 fencers from 20 countries

16 of the top 16 are here in Orleans. The local Touya FRA is one of the favorites here. However Tan Xue, Rebeca Ward, Mariel Zagunis and World Champion Netchaeva RUS todays top 4 in the FIE ranking will not make it easy.

Slow motion: FP will be providing slow motion for the referees. During a bout, the fencers will have three chance to ask for a replay. However — and this is a new rule! — if the fencer is right, then it doesn't  count against their three challenges. As long as the fencers successfully challenge a ruling with a slow-motion replay, they can keep requesting more.
Congratulations to Rebecca Ward USA for her 18 birthday and for her first place today in Orleans ! Amazing performance today and last weekend in London the USA makes both times the 1-2.
