2008 Women's & Men's Sabre GP ALGER

It's March, and this time Fencing Pictures packs its bags and heads to the Women's Sabre & Men's Sabre Grand Prix in ALGER, ALGERIA. This is a very important competition for the Olympics. Here is where most of tickets will be seal.

News!

Congratulations to Tarantino ITA for the first place in today's individual event. Stay tuned tomorrow because tomorrow will be  the day where all the tickets for the Olympics will happen.

Congratulations to Sada Jacobson and to the USA TEAM for their gold medal in the individual and the team event.

96 Women's fencers and 117 Men's Sabre from more than 20 countries.

Women's Poules - Top 16

Men's Poules - Top 16

15 of the top 16 are here in ALGER.  Olympic Champion Mariel Zagunis USA and World Champion Netchaeva RUS will be here. It seems from the list of top 16 that Rebeca Ward will not be attending the GP.  Women's top 16 here.

Slow motion: FP will be providing slow motion for the referees. During a bout, the fencers will have three chance to ask for a replay. However — and this is a new rule! — if the fencer is right, then it doesn't  count against their three challenges. As long as the fencers successfully challenge a ruling with a slow-motion replay, they can keep requesting more.
